Timeline Series - The Dried Land |
| Medium: |
Acrylics on canvas. |
| Description: |
This painting is the third of three that I have put together
to illustrate the time line of the way we are headed with
global warming and these extensive droughts that Australia
is currently facing.
The first is titled “The Way We Were”
which is what I image that it would’ve been like once upon a
time, the aboriginals with the lushes amounts of water
visable in the background, so laid back and not a care in
the world.
The second is titled “The Drying Land”, representing more than just dirt
sifting through an old man’s
hands but also his life long
dedication to his land that is
slowly sifting further from mans
control. More interpretation can
be made from this image although
I would much rather leave that
to the viewers perspective than
spell it all out.
Thirdly (this one). titled “The Dried Land”, is showing
where we are headed, and to some extent were we already are…
Many lakes and river are looking just like this, soon there
will be no food or water left for our animals or us and we
will shrival from our exsitance like the land in this
illustration. More is being said, look at it to see your own
stories etc. |
